I think looking at contempory illustration and graphics books is influencing me a bit. Which is weird because this up there is an old style of Graphic design. The kind you see all the London hipsters doing when they're not dicking about with the smokers or talking on their phones in librarys. Goddamn.

Ye olde drawing

Here's an old drawing I did back when I was a little kiddie. Using Flash (an animation and interactive website creation program) to draw things was the killer app for me. One of the drawings was this: The idea behind it came from an old factory in Gowerton being demolished to make way for some poncy flats that look like what Disney would love all houses to look like. I found this drawing on my DeviantFart account along with some other embarrassments. I thought I may as well update the drawing seeings I had nothing better to do with my time other than rub my face against walls with interesting textures.



Notice how the wonky walkway at the front makes everything else look wonky. There's so much wrong with this but the original was wonky too so I guess you could call it "character".

EDIT: Here is something I did during the week as an experiment (in coming up with a style for a kids book)

It's rough around the edges because each individual colour is a separate scanned in drawing. That and I was doing it pressed against the window.

WIP

I was asked to put up some pictures of my artistic process. Man, that sounded pretentious. It's just a record of how I get from A to B and possibly linger in one of the obscure letters inbetween that don't exist.

Anywawy, at the moment I'm doing a project for editorial illustration on Bjork. Here are two of the doodles I did as initial ideas:







The first one is about Bjork singing from her inner child and the scond one is a Swan wearing a Bjork dress. P.S. Sorry for the font and that, the writing tools don't seem to want to work on the Macs in Uni.

I babbled something about drawing an image so that you could fill the gaps in with writing. I don't know if you can write a story to this though. It's a bit odd.
